Biscuit Machine Price: What Actually Determines the Cost in 2026

Why do two biscuit machine quotes differ by 40%? Material grade, oven type, automation level, mold tooling and after-sales terms — explained line by line.

Buyers often forward us a competitor's quotation and ask the same question: "Why is your price different when the machine is the same?" It almost never is the same machine. Here are the five line items that legitimately move a biscuit machine price, so you can compare quotes like an engineer instead of like a shopper.

1. Material grade

Food-contact parts should be SUS304 stainless steel; some quotes quietly substitute SUS201 or painted carbon steel on frames, covers and conveyors. 201 looks identical on a photo and costs 20–30% less — and rusts within a year in a humid bakery. Ask the supplier to state the steel grade per part in the quotation, and check the welding and polishing quality on a video call.

2. Oven type and fuel

The tunnel oven is 40–50% of a line's price. Gas ovens cost more upfront than electric but run 30–50% cheaper per kilogram of biscuits where gas is available. Also compare heating control: 3 zones vs 5 zones, and whether each zone has independent PID control. A cheap oven with coarse control shows up as inconsistent biscuit color, not as a lower invoice.

3. Automation level

A "same capacity" line can differ by two workers per shift depending on whether dough feeding, sheeting and packing are integrated or manual. Price the automation against your local monthly wage, not against the invoice: in most markets, one saved worker per shift pays for the extra automation within 18 months.

4. Molds and changeover tooling

Rotary moulders are usually quoted with one set of rollers. Every extra biscuit shape means a new engraved roller or depositor die — typically US$800–2,000 per shape. Decide your first-year SKU list before signing, and get the mold prices written in.

5. After-sales terms

Compare what happens after the container lands:

  • Installation: on-site engineer (visa, flights, hotel, salary) vs supervised remote commissioning
  • Spare parts: which list, shipped from where, at what response time
  • Warranty: 12 months is standard; check what voids it

A quote that is US$8,000 cheaper but ships spares only from China at the buyer's cost can end up more expensive in year one.

How we quote

Our biscuit line and packing machine pages show indicative EXW ranges, MOQ and lead time, so you can budget before you even write to us. For a firm quotation we need your capacity target, biscuit samples or photos, and workshop dimensions.

One warning: if a quote is dramatically below every competitor, the difference is hiding in steel grade, motor brands or the oven. Ask for the BOM (bill of materials) — a serious manufacturer sends it the same day.
